Personally, I think setting weight loss goals is super important. Weight Loss goals are results that a person plans and achieves.
Here are 4 reasons why it’s important to set goals:
Goals give you a clear idea of what you want to achieve. When you set goals you start taking baby steps to make those goals a reality.
Goals are a great way to measure your progress. For example, say if one of your weight loss goals is to lose 10kgs. When you lose 5kgs you’ll know that you’re half way towards your goal. By using the weight loss planner you can track your weight, measurements and what you eat daily. If you gain wight one week, have a little browse through your food diary and see if you can pin point something that may have attributed to the gain.
Goals keep your motivation levels super high because you have something to strive for every day. There’s nothing more motivating than a sense of accomplishment.
Goals keep you accountable for your actions. For example, you’re walking through a shopping centre and a donut shop is ahead, the smell is amazing. Only you can make that decision to keep walking past the donut shop, or go inside the store. No one else cares what you do in that situation. Only you can make that decision to stay focused and take an extra step towards your goals.
When creating your weight loss goals, I think it’s best to focus on short term & long term goals. It’s really important to make your goals, realistic, specific and achievable.
Your short term goals should be goals that lead you towards your long term goals. For example, lose a certain amount of weight in 1 month or walk 30 minutes a days.
Your long term goals are where you want your journey to finish. So it could be you goal weight, fit into size 10 jeans or wear a swimsuit on the beach next time you’re on holiday.
